Resolve Your Fears

There are many definitions of fear and different kinds of fear.
The Bible in Romans 8 gives two perspective to how you view an issue. Either carnally(mere human understand) or spiritually. Further more Ephesians 6:12 is quick to remind us that our struggles(including with fear) is a spiritual affair because God is a Spirit(John 4:24)

Fear is unhealthy in all its ramifications (except the fear of the Lord Himself) and the need to be free from it’s strangling hold over your life cannot be over emphasized.

Comparing most of the definitions and discussions on and about fear, my conclusion is that fear is the projection of one’s inner struggles, doubts, failures and the evidence of man’s fallen nature; man’s frailty.

When Adam was with God in the garden, there was no fear. He did not Fear any animal(Zoophobia), he did not fear the sky, mountain and rivers(Biophobia) even though they were all new to him. He did not fear the sun(Heliophobia) nor the moon(Selenophobia) though this was the first time of seeing them, He was not afraid of being alone(Autophobia), he was not afraid of his tomorrow(Chronophobia) or the unknown world(Xenophobia) but the only time Adam experienced fear and hid himself was when he Sinned against God. He had no emotional or psychological fears.

The concept of fear came into the world with the fall of man; the sin of Adam. This disconnected him from God. Every time there is a disconnection between man and his Creator, fear comes in. 1st John 4:8 says God is LOVE and verse 18 says that that LOVE cast out fear. It simply means that when you are connected to God(who is LOVE) fear is cast out. The converse is obvious, when you are disconnected from God, the spirit of fear is let in. So every time you are experiencing fear you are disconnected from God by sin. That is why there are so many emphasis on the phrase “FEAR NOT” in the Bible.

Why? God recognizes the fallen nature of man because of the disconnect from Him and in some instances the fear rises to a mobid degrees where the man’s entire existence is messed up and thrown into a state of utter confusion and we know by 1st Corinthians Chapter 14 verse 33 that God is not a author of confusion but fear is.

Let me be clear about the word “Sin” here mentioned

Let’s see the case of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego in the book of Daniel chapter 3. Because of their connection to God they exhibited no fear at all in the face of a gruesome death.
How do I know this? It was the reply they gave to king Nebuchadnezzar In Daniel 3:16 “O Nebuchadnezzar we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you upset”
These powerful statement by these three men is a classic evidence of a soul connected to God and therefore fear casted out of their lives.

The Solution to your fears is very simple, reconnect with God through Jesus Christ. 2nd Timothy 17 Says “For God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind”

I will not downplay the great work by psychologist and psychiatrist in helping people cope, manage and live with fear but that work is only temporal. Until you acknowledge your fallen nature and your disconnection from God and reconnect to God through Jesus Christ alone, your struggle with fear will lead to your eventual demise.

Start walking in the perfect LOVE of God (Jesus and his word), hearing and doing all that is commanded in the Bible. Romans 10:17… “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” These is your solution to your fears without the many pills, therapy sessions and huge medical bills.

Jesus is waiting for you.
