“But until a person can say deeply and honestly, “I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday”, that person cannot say, “I choose otherwise”…Stephen R. Covey
What are doors? Doors are exit and entry points to a place(s) or location(s). Doors are like gates too. This is a No-brainer. The interesting thing though is what/who is allowed to approach the door and go in and out of that door.
1st Thessalonians 5:23 says “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”. This scripture confirms that the human is made of three parts; the Spirit, Soul and Body. While the Spirit and the Soul are inside and cannot be seen with the physical eyes, the Body is what we see.
While the Spirit responds to God and spiritual matters, the body respond to the earth and earthly matters. In between these two, is the Soul; the Door.
In Genesis 28:12 the Bible says concerning Jacob that “He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top (the door) reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it“(emphasis mine). Here we see a door leading to heaven and guess what or who were going in and out of it? Angels.
Exodus 12:7…”Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the side and tops of the doorframe of the houses where they eat the lamb”. Here, we see physical doors but someone was been prevented from going in. Who? Angel of Death.
Judges 16:3…”And Samson lay till midnight and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two post, and went away with them, bar and all and put(them) upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill(is) before Hebron.”. Here, the door(gate) has been destroyed and the people made vulnerable to defeat.
Revelations 3:20…”Here i am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me”. Here, someone is seeking gently to enter through a door. Who? Jesus Christ.
