What is Sin?
I believe it has already been established through several Sunday school and Church service meetings coupled with the ministration of the Holy Spirit but for the avoidance of doubt in addition to the ones mentioned in the Bible, sin is whatever God says is a sin.
Sin is not subject to popular opinions or the laws and conventions, or traditions and customs. Sin is what God says is a sin whether it is socially or legally accepted in society. Why so? Because His words are flawless and perfect. Proverbs 30:5 says “Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar”…..Revelations 22:18 “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll. if anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the holy city…” and Psalm 19:7 says “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The command of the Lord is firm and all of them are righteous”. It cannot be added to nor subtracted from.
It is His word that forms and fashioned the world (Genesis 1:1… “In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth”) and it is His word that is keeping the word in place right now (Hebrews 1:3… “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word…”)
