The final stage of God’s plan of making known His personality and invariable His name in His relationship with us was the actualization of all the prophesies about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 1:20-21 which says… “But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Now to confirm that He(Jesus) is the same I AM in the beginning, in John 18:6 when they came to arrest Jesus, He asked them who they wanted and when the crowd said it is Jesus of Nazareth, He replied I AM and they all fell to the ground. Why did they fall? Because Philippians 2:10 says “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”
The Testaments are like Wills and Hebrews 9:16-17 says “For where a Will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive.” Jesus is the foundation and founder of the New Testament but while he was still alive, the Old Testament was still in force, hence the name I AM (Yahweh or Jehovah) was still in use.
At the death and resurrection of Jesus, the New Testament came into force with the name “JESUS” at the pinnacle of all names (Physical or Spiritual) hence Philippians 2:9 says “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name”
That is why the book of Acts 4:11-12 says “This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
And then 1st Corinthians 3:11 says “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ”
In John 1:29 Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God… “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
These other scriptures should put the matter to rest…. Revelation 17:14 says “They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
Revelation 21:27 says “But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
Revelation 22:3-4 says “No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.”
