Hear this Fictional Story….
A certain lady visited her neighbour with some quantity of Salt and both poured their respective quantities of salt into a container…Then both of them went to see their friend two streets away who also poured her own quantity of salt inside her visitor’s container of salt and now the three of them together go visiting their various other friends and the same thing happens at every visitation.
One thing is sure, the Salt Container will be very full, heavy and if possible overflowing with salt.
But the question will be, what is the relevance of us just gathering and collecting salts in a container?
Is the usefulness of salts inside the containers or outside the container.
The Container is merely a storage vessel.
God is the sharer of SALTS. We are the CONTAINERS and the SALT is God’s saving, blessing and transforming Word in our lives.
The value of Salt can only be experienced outside the container; like the following;
1. Cooking Soup,
3. Put out fire,
4. Cleaning fish tank,
5. Deodorise your trainers and shoes worn without socks,
6. keep brass ornaments looking clean,
7. Natural dandruff treatment,
8. Ease sore throat,
9. Refresh your chopping board
10. Dissolve a drain blockage,
I can go on and on about the value of the salt but non will ever be that “it looks beautiful inside of a Container”
In Matthew 5:13 after we became born again, we became Salts…God poured His own Salt into us and we became Salts NOT FOR US TO CARRY THE SALT INSIDE ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES but to pour(like He did) that same salt into others outside the Church because the church is already full of SALTS.
You are valuable to God when you stop storing up God’s Salt inside of you but you share His Salt in you with “Your World” so they too can have His Salt in them and everyone keeps sharing until His Salt fills the while earth….That is why He says in Luke 9:26….”If anyone is ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.”
Sharing the Good News( that Jesus died for our Sin and resurrected and lives forevermore) and all who come to Jesus will be loved, forgiven and accepted is your duty.
For all those who read this and are eager to share His Salt(Good News) but don’t know how, i pray Colossians 4:3 for you ...”Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:”…i pray that God will reveal ways, means and dimensions of expression to reach your world for Christ in Jesus name…Amen.
