Oh! I see what you mean…but it was not a mistake on my part to mention them because you will be shocked to find people; workers, ministers, deacons in church who either are homosexuals themselves or see nothing wrong with it or are you telling me Chima that you have not heard of churches in some Western Countries…Europe and probably in America that ordain Gay Bishops?
True…what about celibates and those who by their choices have damaged their reproductive systems?
Paul was a celibate and so he knew the implication. Celibacy is not barrenness and for those in the latter group, God’s mercy and love is always available.
Ok…so you said it’s our choice and God’s… all we have talked about so far are our choices, right?
now here is my confusion, you have already mentioned what God has said about barrenness…He wants us fruitful and it is our right.
So why would God want us barren? Isn’t that confusing?
This is where many relationships with God over faith have become estranged. Either because the churches have been playing to the galleries for too long and neglecting the studying of the Word and close relationship with the Holy Spirit or are scared of saying it because is not a popular and pleasant truth to say.
That God also causes barrenness for a time.
let me say this very clearly, God is not an author of confusion…1st Corinthians 14:33. God is flawlessly perfect…Deuteronomy 32:4
This further emphasis my earlier point that God never made us barrenness but He “delays” our child bearing for those who are believers or non believers for unique purposes…for a reason and a time…let me explain…
For instance Genesis 11:30 say “but Sarai was barren; she had no child.”… Her barrenness was designed for a time and purpose… Isaac…
Genesis 29:31 “and when the lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.”… Meaning Leah’s womb was shut and opened by God for the purpose of giving birth to the tribes of Israel and Rachel’s barren was designed for a purpose and had a time… Joseph.
Judge 13:2 “and there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.” …her barrenness was designed for a purpose and for a time…Samson.
Luke 1:7 “and they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.”… Her barrenness was designed for a purpose and for a time. John the Baptist.
In each of these facts, God reversed the barrenness when the purpose was at hand and the time was right? It meant they were not really barren but just delayed in child-bearing for a while by God which still goes to confirm that conception and delivery is an integral part of our creation by god. God can manipulate the timing and the circumstance for the sake of the purpose but God said he will not go against his own word especially the one spoken over and about his children.
Take for instance Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus. God needed her to give birth to our Lord Jesus but not by the order He (God) set in us and for us in Genesis 1:27-28 but when she was done with His purpose, God still allowed the set order to continue and Mary had other children. It was just a delay.
