DONT QUIT

“The Message” translation of Psalm 27: 13-14 says … “I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with God ! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God .”

Reading this this morning, I realize that there are many things that can make believers to “Quit” especially unanswered prayers, pain(physical and emotional), hardship and poverty, etc .

To quit is not the outright leaving the church or departing from the faith,.Noooo!!!,..Many believers have quit and are still in church doing churchy stuff. They still attend church services, serve in different departments in the church, still identify with a local church in their offices and neighbourhood, people still call them Christians, they still pray and go on evangelism, etc.

Quiting is having an alternative to God’s promises in your life…It does not mean loving God less, it simply means trusting God less. It means not taking God “seriously” at what HE has said or still saying….this is a serious matter because in 3 scriptures God emphasized on the supremacy of HIS Word in our lives…. Matthew 4:4“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

In Luke 4:4 the bible repeats the same thing … “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.”

And to show the seriousness of this matter, the Old Testament repeats same in Deuteronomy 8:3…. “And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.”

God knows your challenges and knows how “hard-pressed” you are over those dire and disturbing situations in your life to see a change and experience a relief…Trust HIM wholly, HE knows, Cares and will come to your rescue…at HIS time HE makes all things beautiful.
