2nd Corinthians 9:6 says “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

In the verse of Scripture above, Paul (who himself was not in Corinth but most probably in Macedonia) had boasted to the Macedonian Believers that the cheerful giving of the Believers in Corinth had made it possible for Achaia (probably a church there) to be ready over a year ago and it seemed that the Believers in Macedonia and himself were to embark on a journey to that same Achaia (in Corinth) and he wanted to be sure is boast was not in vain.

This Scripture talks about the volume of the giving not as a yardstick for receiving but on the basis of ability to give hence both verse 5 and 7 “emphatically” made it clear that the giving was not by force but by free will and choice also not grudgingly or out of necessity but by choice. Then the subsequent pronouncement of blessings in verses 8 to 11 had no measurements to them i.e. both the small giver and the Big giver were both blessed. The focus of the chapter was the free-will giving for the completion of a project (Church) in Achaia.

So again what has I AM THAT I AM specifically demanded or asked from you/us?  Do you want to know or you want to avoid Him.

Many have chosen the latter because they have been misled or allowed themselves to be misled into believing that the I AM THAT I AM is demanding the gift of money or some form of physical sacrifice from them.

No, He is not demanding money from you because if He did, you would not be able to give Him…Remember 1st Kings 3: 4-4 where Solomon went to Gibeon and offered a Thousand burnt offerings and God asked him what he wanted…that Scripture has been twisted negatively to mean because he gave so much offering, God was pleased and decided to bless him..No, that wrong.

Read from verse 7- 14 of the same chapter and hear the reason why God blessed Solomon…

And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

You now see that it was Solomon’s desire to please God and fulfill his calling as King anointed by God was what was pleasing to God and that was why God blessed him and this is the crux of this article, I AM THAT I AM is demanding from us OUR LIVES, OUR LOVE, OUR DEVOTION AND OUR HEART AND NOTHING MORE.

Jesus explains in Matthew 11: 28 when He said… “come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”… in the popular john 3:16 Jesus says “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”….The Bible says in Isaiah 1: 18 to the unbeliever  “come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool”… this is confirmed in the new testament in Romans 4:8 “But God commendeth his love towards us , in that while were yet sinners, Christ died for us”….And for believers, the Bible says 1st John 1:9  “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”

All these scriptures and many more clearly tell you what I AM THAT I AM is asking from you. Don’t be misled. If I AM THAT I AM wanted human sacrifice, He would have allowed Abraham kill Isaac but He stopped Abraham (because it was a test of faithfulness) and then He Himself provided the sacrifice as He also did with the Cross.

Giving to God financial is ONLY acceptable to God only by a believer who is giving out of a cheerful and grateful heart because in sincerity he has realized how good God had been to him. It is an expression of gratitude, love.

It is also an act of obedience that God requires from ONLY believers. From and by scriptures, God will not demand the sacrifice of finance or anything else physical from an unrepented/unrepentant soul…Proverbs 15:8 “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord; but thee prayer of the upright is his delight”… Psalms 1:5 “Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous”
