What is Faith? Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Simply put; Faith is believing in occurrence of an event whose occurrence is realistically and physically impossible to the one who is believing Or believing the words, ideas and mindset of someone whom you either have not seen or have seen but do not know or runs contrary to what you already believe or runs contrary to what is obtainable and workable in the life and environment of the one believing.
Looking at this simplified meaning of Faith and applying to your life, then you start appreciating Hebrews 11: 2 which says “This is what the ancients were commended for.” And for us who live in “Fourth World Countries(Not developing Countries), which is a replica of the ancient world too…. no aspect of living works….No Health care,no power, no jobs, no security, no roads,no justice, etc…Living by Faith is not an option but the only “righteous solution“.
So what is living by Faith? Romans 1:17 says “For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
So what does it mean to live by Faith?
Why must we live by Faith?
2nd Corinthians 4:4 says “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
James 4:4 says “You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”
These scriptures and many more makes us understand that the world is right now being ruled and governed by Satan hence nothing seems to be working(especially in my part of town) and in most developed countries where things work, Satan plagues them with other problems like earthquakes, Hurricanes, depression, suicide, etc.
I believe that we already understand that living by Faith is “Living by Faith in God(Jesus) Alone” and not living by Faith in anyone or anything else.
That said; So what does it mean to live by Faith? … It’s simply in theory the following;
1. Recognising that no matter how good intentioned a law, rule, custom, tradition or system created by man to administer a given society is, it will eventually fail and will not be able to solve man’s problem and might in some cases further enslave, torture and deprive man of his God given rights and privileges and eventually destroy man….John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;”
2. That living in strict accordance with God’s word in the bible Alone is in constant severe and direct opposition to the world’s system which many atime will lead to rejection, ridicule, shame, being alone, punished, etc.
3. And the willingness to accept the consequences of whatever comes your way for living by Faith in Jesus Alone.
Take a few moments and deeply reflect on these things as it regards you and your society where you live….then you will realize what it means to be commended for your faith in God.. like the Americans will say “it is not a walk in the park”
Is your Faith commendable means are you truly living by Faith.
Are all your actions and believes the exact match with God’s word?
So;Why must we live by Faith? John 10:10(B) …”…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
When we say something it’s alive, it means it is healthy and optimally functional.
Jesus says He has come that we will have a healthy and optimally functional life on earth. A life fulfilling every of its designed purpose, full of joy, contentment and satisfaction of living and then Jesus went furthet to say “…and have it to the full”. What is a full life? A life that fulfills all its purpose and we know our purpose is not only design for earth alone but for also heaven. So Jesus was talking about eternal life too.
So we need to live by Faith to live in dominion and pleasantness here on earth and beyond.
So is your faith commendable?
PRAYER: Sovereign King and Lord, Eternal Father….Grant us grace to live by Faith in Your word in Jesus name…Amen.
