Colossians 2:6 says “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in,”.
This scripture is important for us today for two reasons;
1. How did you receive Jesus?
2. How did you give Jesus?
How many received Jesus is the reason for many faulty foundations today. Many received Jesus wrongly. The Muslims received Jesus as a prophet, some religions as a “High Master”.
But particularly in Christianity, some received Jesus as the Miracle Worker who is only relevant when they need a miracle, some as a Provider who is only consulted when they run out of supplies.
Does it mean Jesus is not a Miracle Worker?
Does it mean Jesus is not a Provider?
Does it mean a fried rice does not have chopped meat?
Does it mean a yam porridge does not have oil?
Of course Jesus is a Provider and a Miracle Worker.
Of course fried rice has chopped meat and porridge has oil?
But without the rice in the “fried rice”, there will be no fried rice and the meat will just be meat. Rice is the main ingredients.. Without yam in the yam porridge, there would be no porridge at all, oil will just be oil. Yam is the main ingredient.
Without the message of the salvation of our Soul First and Foremost which is integral and foundational to the Death of Jesus on the Cross, all other personalities of Jesus i.e. a Miracle Worker or Provider will amount to nothing because the salvation of our souls is what the good news is all about, the bedrock to our journey back home to God.
No wonder many are deformed spiritually because they received Jesus wrongly.
This leads to the 2nd question, how are you giving Jesus? Be careful how you give Jesus, give Jesus rightly. Give Jesus as the Saviour of our souls and the Lord of our lives, telling them to seek his kingdom first and then those other personalities of His will manifest. God will hold you accountable.
No wonder,God seeing this deformities, tells us in 2nd Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
So for you who is deformed,go back to God’s word to be reformed.
