Certain elements in life causes fear like fire and weapons of destruction and so John was right to be afraid when he turned to see the Jesus in Revelation 1:14-16 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. And Jesus comforted him in verse 17 by touching him and yet he was not burnt up by the fire or destroyed by the sword…Brethren, this tells me these: if you are living in Holiness,Righteousness and Obedience, You need not fear where God is present, You are loved and safe. So why that kind of appearance then to His own beloved? That appearance is not for His beloved(s)(by God’s grace I am one of them, what about you?), that appearance is for Sin, ungodliness and iniquity regardless of persons and places it is found especially in the church. Remember the bible says He is the lamb of God, Our Shepherd and very meek, lowly in heart and humble and yet when He appeared, non of these reflected in His appearance. He will burn and destroy Sin, ungodliness and iniquity. This appearance is not to display is awesomeness alone but to display His disposition towards Sin. Yes, God loves the world… John 3:16 but don’t forget John 3:18. He will not tolerate Sin especially amongst those who say they are His2nd Timothy 2: 19 says “Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”*Whoever has ears, let them hear.* …….Revelation 13:9
